Shooting in Athurugiriya

A 44-year-old man, who was travelling on a motorbike, was shot at in Galwarusawa, Athurugiriya yesterday , police said.

The victim was admitted to the Oruwala Hospital and was pronounced dead while undergoing treatments.

The victim was identified as Nimalsiri Thalagala, a resident in Puwakgahadeniya, Korathota, Kaduwela.

They said the gunmen had fled the scene after the incident.

Further investigations were carried out by Athurugiriya Police.
