Single Cigarette Sale Will be Banned

Health Minister Rajitha Senarathen said that  in order to reduce smoking, he would present a Cabinet Memorandum next week seeking the approval to draft rules to ban the sale of a single cigarette,  along with the  increased tax on tobacco to up to 90 %.  He further said, that tobacco cultivators will be held with  alternative crops with the assistance of World Bank and the World Health Organization.
