The SL Blind Walk was organised in line with World Sight Day. Blind walks are organised across the world in five countries and at 55 locations. The first Sri Lankan “Blind Walk” commenced near Royal College Colombo this morning. The event involved a walk of blindfolded people led by respected blind individuals – and an ending with a resolution to pledge their eyes. A number of special performances and speeches were conducted by Friends in Action, Nethraloka and the Sri Lanka Blind Society.
