Apple Closing $200M Deal For “Argylle”

Apple is reportedly closing up a $200 million deal for worldwide rights to “Kingsman” and “Kick Ass” director Matthew Vaughn’s major spy thriller ensemble feature “Argylle”.

Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, John Cena, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Samuel L. Jackson and singer Dua Lipa will all-star in the feature with the latter providing the film’s title track as well as original music for its score.

An adaptation of Ellie Conway’s upcoming spy novel of the same name, the story follows the world’s greatest spy as he gets caught up in a globe-trotting adventure. Jason Fuchs (“Wonder Woman”) has been tapped to adapt the script.

Vaughn, Fuchs, Adam Bohling and David Reid will produce. It’s expected the film could be a potential franchise launcher for Apple which has films like “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Tetris,” “Emancipation,” “Finch” and “Kitbag” on the way along with the about to release “CODA”. In addition, the service has just announced a September 10th premiere date for the filmed live performance of Tony Award-winning musical “Come From Away”.
