18 Train Services Struck

As one of the Engine drivers was attacked yesterday evening at Ragama railway station,  train services on   18  lines have been cancelled,  Railway Control Room noticed. Attacking passengers was alleged that the attacked driver was under  the influence of liquor.But the police investigation revealed it was not so. Railway Trade Unions have already noticed Railway authorities that would go on strike from 1200 hrs noon today (Tuesday). Scheduled strike was due to delay in implementing salary anomalies  and salary revision

 Subsequently,There was a discussion held between the Trade Unions and Railway Authorities this morning. At the end of the discussion, it was agreed to call over the strike on attack issue.
