Police arrest 376 individuals over violating quarantine

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) –  The number of individuals arrested on charges of violating quarantine regulations has increased to 78, 253.

The arrests were made since the 30th of October last year.

Police said 376 individuals were arrested during a 24-hour period ending at 6 this morning.

18 vehicles were meanwhile seized by Police.

Meanwhile 1,310 persons entering the Western Province and 1,135 persons leaving the province were inspected yesterday.

Police said 225 persons in 109 vehicles who attempted to cross checkpoints with no valid reason were turned back.
