Release of dangerous 390 Tigers during Mahinda’s Period

Dangerous Tigers numbering 390 were released from prisons without any condition during the period Mahinda Governed  this Country. But in our governance, no one is released in that manner. We don’t release 56 dangerous Tigers , who have committed crimes and sentenced. 204 Tigers were arrested under prevention of Terrorism act and detained. 56 of them are dangerous Tigers committed crimes. Among them are those, who were responsible for the killing of Kadirkamar and attempted to kill Chandreka.Cases filed and they were sentenced to Jail.In regard to 124,  cases were filed and being heard in Courts. 24 suspects committed minor offences.A few of them have committed grave  offences.Steps have been take to release these 20 suspects on bail.As sureties for strict bail conditions no one has  come forward, hence  release  is delayed. We shall never release sentenced 56 Tigers. We have released 39 suspects, who have committed minor  offences. On recommendation made by the Attorney General Department, they were released on bail under strict bail conditions. Those who had been released should report to the close police station once a month. Government gives priority for national security.Hence, there is no threat to national security. Government takes full responsibility for National Security. During Mahinda’s  period just prior to the Northern Provincial Council Election,  390 dangerous Tigers detained in Boosa were released on recommendation given by the  then AG, Mohan Peiris. They were released after police interviewed them. Like wise those who were arrested for attempting to kill Mahinda Rajapaksha were also released by Rajapakshe regim, despite sufficient evidence made available . This  group of 22 led by Sivaraj  and Subakrishnan were not even inquired and case failed in courts. All were released on former AG.Mohan Peiri’s  recommendation. When all dangerous Tiger were released  without any terms and conditions, no one dared to open  their mouth regarding National Security.  Now they shout  about National Security just for their political survival. Hence people need not be detracted by their utterances Government assures National  Security. Minister  of Justice Wijedasa Rajpakshe  disclosed above facts in a press conference held in Committee Room No 4 of the  Parliament on Thursday ,26.11.2015.
