Ravi Disclosed Mahinda’s Double Monthly Remuneration

While answering issues raised by Members of Parliament during last 9 days debate in Parliament, on 2nd November 2015 Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake disclosed, that Mahinda Rajapakshe is receiving double remuneration as from March 2015. In addition to his Presidential  pension of  Rs 97,500, he is drawing monthly salary of Rs 50,000 payable to Members of Parliament.Further when computing all allowances such as Secretaries, Fuel and other benefits entitle to an Ex-President and  current Member of Parliament for Kurunegala, he is granted  Rs454,000 for a month.

Public Officers are entitle either to pension or salary. They can’t draw both, monthly pension and salary. He goes to Buddhist Temples and make wild allegations stating that the country is over burdened with foreign loans. He is the one, who is responsible to increase foreign loans by five fold. He has no guts to come to Parliament and make such statements. Government as well as Opposition Members of Parliament numbering 182 participated in the budget debate and made their valuable contributions. But Mahinda kept away from this debate.
