G.C.E Ordinary Examination Starts From Today

G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination Starts today.

The Department of Examination stated that 4670 examination centers have been set up to conduct the examinations.

Commissioner General of Examinations W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara said that this year records the highest number of candidates sitting for the examinations.

He added that there are 664,715 candidates sitting for the examination this year, out of which 403,444 are school candidates and 261,271 are private applicants.

The Department of Examinations also stated that the examination will commence at 8.30 a.m. on each day and that the candidates are expected to be at the examination centers at 8 a.m.

The department noted that given the inclement weather conditions, students sitting for the examination should be present at the examination centers well ahead of time.
