Russos to shoot “Electric State” this fall
(FASTNEWS | UNITED STATES) – “Avengers: Endgame” directors Anthony and Joe Russo’s apocalyptic alt-history sci-fi feature “The Electric State” is reportedly nearing production.
Speaking with Collider during early press for their Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans-led thriller “The Gray Man”, Joe Russo confirmed they start shooting the project in October in Atlanta.
Based on Simon Stalenhag’s illustrated novel and adapted by the Russo’s usual collaborators Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the story follows a runaway teenage girl and her yellow toy robot on a journey through an alternate-reality 1997 as a high-tech consumerist society is in decline.
Anthony Russo added that they are “working with some old friends” on the project but wouldn’t say who. Millie Bobby Brown is set to star while Chris Pratt in talks to co-star in the film which the pair are doing for Netflix. Like “The Gray Man”, it’s expected this will sport a gargantuan $200 million budget.
