SLFP is not Namal’s Father’s Party – Dilan

SLFP is not Namal’s Father’s Party – Dilan

In the year 2004, SLFP Government couldn’t manage to appoint the Speaker of  the House. SLFP entered into an agreement with the UNP and dragged 13 MPs to their side.

Some says that Mahinda  had a deal  and entered into another agreement with Prabakaran to prevent voters of the North from exercising their franchise. As Prabakaran is defeated this agreement is good.

Namal Rajapakshe  was planning to become  the country’s next President , had his father was in power for another 15 years, claimed State Minister Dilan Perera.

In respond to a question by the press at the  SLFP media briefing in Colombo, regarding a statement made by the Hambantota District MP Namal  to a newspaper, that only 96 MPs remained to safeguard the party, while the rest jumped sides. Namal claimed that he remained in SLFP while others joined hands with the Government. Dilan said that Namal is young . He should know that SLFP MPs extended their support and joined the Government in accordance with the Central committee decision of the SLFP. No individual can claim the ownership of the party. He should understand that the SLFP no longer belongs to his father , Mahinda.
