Cox On Seeing His New Daredevil Outfit
(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – We’re about to finally see Charlie Cox back in his Daredevil suit for an upcoming episode of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” with the character’s new gold-and-red costume already having been teased.
Cox showed up only in his non-costumed Matt Murdock form in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” so the “She-Hulk” appearance will be his first appearance in the outfit which we know has been redesigned by the Drip Broker (Griffin Matthews).
As a seemingly deliberate attempt to move away from comparisons to the Netflix series, the outfit has changed – especially in terms of its color scheme, which is now a gold & red combo that draws inspiration from the original yellow variation of the suit the character first wore in the comics.
Speaking with Rotten Tomatoes recently, Cox spoke about seeing his new costume in person and the new colors which hold significance for the character:
“So I had to go to LA to have a fitting, and I walk in — I can say this now — I walk in. I knew I wasn’t going to wear it in [‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’], I knew that much, but whilst we were doing ‘Spider-Man,’ we were getting ready to do ‘She-Hulk,’ and so I got to go to LA to a fitting, and I walk in, and the suit is hanging there. But then there’s a drawing on the wall, and it has the gold and red.
And I was like ‘no way.’ It’s funny because when you play the character this long, it’s like you’re emotionally connected to the fans’ response … Oh man, this is unreal! So, you see something like that, and it means something to you because you know what it means – what it’s going to mean.”
Cox’s appearance in the show is a one-off ahead of the main event, his own show with “Daredevil: Born Again” which is set to premiere in Spring 2024 on the Disney+ service.
