President Japan bound on September 26

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – President Ranil Wickremesinghe will be leaving for Japan on September 26 to attend the official funeral ceremony of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe which will be held on September 27 in Tokyo.

The President is also scheduled to meet Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and high-level representatives of the Japanese government.

Unofficial reports stated that after his visit to Japan, President Wickremesinghe will attend the Asian Development Bank Governors’ meeting to be held in the Philippines on the September 29. He is expected to hold talks with Philippines President Bongbong Marcos too. He is scheduled to return back on September 30.
