“Rings of Power” S2 Sets Filming Start

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Amazon Prime’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” series is still in the midst of airing its first season, and the wheels of production must continue.

Long-running fansite TheOneRing.net reports that filming on the next season of the mega-budget series commences on October 7th. In addition, the new season’s shift to the UK is confirmed.

Filming is slated to take place around Edinburgh, Scotland and surrounding locations, while Bray Studios near Windsor Castle will serve as the show’s home base in the UK. Production will also return to the first season’s home in Auckland, New Zealand.

The start date matches with comments from executive producer Lindsey Weber earlier this month that they’ve been totally consumed with pre-production and will start shooting the second season “in a few short weeks”.

The first season will close out its eight-episode first season airing on October 14th.
