Power cut extended – PUCSL approves

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The Public Utilities Commission has granted permission to the CEB to cut electricity for two hours from today.

Thereby, Groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, and W will experience power cuts for one hour during daytime and one hour and 20 minutes at night.

Chairman of the PUCSL Janaka Rathnayaka said the power cuts were extended considering the unavailability of Old Laxapana Stage 1, lack of fuel at Westcoast, and the sudden increase in electricity demand.

In the meantime, the Public Utilities Commission says that the power cut will have to be extended between 10 and 12 hours after the 28th of next month if coal is not purchased immediately.
