Extensive CID probe into Thilini Priyamali’s contacts

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched an extensive investigation into persons who are said to have been in contact with Thilini Priyamali who was taken into custody and remanded, for defrauding money, subsequent to maintaining a fraudulent financial institution at the World Trade Center.

The relevant orders have been obtained from the Fort Magistrate’s Court and investigations are being carried out based on data from her mobile phone.

Accordingly, requests have been made from the relevant telephone companies regarding records of her mobile phone calls and the objective of this endeavour is to discover the identity of persons who were in contact with her.

A spokesperson said that the purpose for which the suspect woman used the money and the method by which the money was obtained will be investigated. The Digital Forensics Laboratory of the Criminal Investigation Department will be involved in the investigations and several investigative teams will be conducting these probes separately.
