CID takes Thilini from Welikada to a different place

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) -Thilini Priyamali, the chairman of Thico Group, who was recently placed on remand on suspicion of financial fraud, was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today, October 15 in order to be moved to a site for additional investigation.

According to Chandana Ekanayake, a prison spokesman, she was escorted by prison authorities under heightened security as a result of a court order.

Thilini was also seized from Welikada Prison by the CID on Tuesday and transferred to the World Trade Centre in Colombo, where her office is located.
