3rd Reading of Budget passed by 109 Votes

The 3rd reading of budget 2016 was passed in parliament, with a majority of 109 votes today.

160 voted in favour of the budget, 51 voted against the budget while 13 MP’s were absent.

The second reading of the budget 2016 was passed in parliament on the 2nd of December with a  majority of 107 votes.

159 MPs voted for the budget while 52 voted against.  13 MPs were absent.

SLFP and TNA MPs joined their UNP counterparts. However JVP and SLFP Joint Opposition members voted against the budget.
