Heavy showers above 100mm expected at some places today.

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thundershowers at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, and Northern provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts today.

The Met Department said heavy showers above 100mm can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Northern provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur elsewhere over the island during the afternoon or night.

Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
