Unemployed Graduates Association on Protest Demonstration

The Unemployed Graduates Association of the Western Province has decided to engage in a protest this morning.

Convener of the Association Dhammika Munasinghe said the protest will take place opposite Western Province Chief Minister’s Office.

The main objective of the protest is to demand immediate appointments to all teachers who pass the exam.

Dhammika Munasinghe said another objective of the protest is to force the government to provide jobs to all other graduates.

Meanwhile, a special discussion was also held between the Secretary to the Prime Minister and unemployed graduates unions yesterday.

The Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs said a committee comprising four ministries was appointed to provide solutions to the issues of unemployed graduates.
