Limiting 40 Students to Grade I from 2016

The Education Ministry has taken a policy decision to enroll  only 40 students to a Grade I class from  next year (2016).

A spokesman for the Education Ministry said that the Cabinet approval had been received to keep 40 students in a class room  from next year. He said that reducing the number of students immediately to 35 students  will create problems and  complications. Hence  the government had decided to do this during a five year span to avoid such difficulties. It was decided to reduce one student per year as from 2017 and bring the level of students in Grade I  class to 35 in the year 2021

Limiting the number of students to 35  in Grade I class  is  in consistent with a court determination.
