New Economic Agreement between Sri Lanka and India

A new  economic agreement between Sri Lanka and India will be  signed in February 2016, a Sinhala media revealed. Both countries’ Trade Secretaries came to an understanding on this matter  during their recent meeting.

By signing  this new economic agreement Srilanka  will be benefited very much in international trade, Strategic Planning Ministry  Statement revealed.

But to include a provision which allows  Indian workers to obtain employment in Sri Lanka will be a threat to Srilankans, alleged Srilanka Trade Unions. Hence, they have warned the Government to be conscious on this issue.
