Death Certificate For Disappeared Persons – Rajitha

During his visit to the North to celebrate Thaipongal festival ,Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said in a meeting that possibility of disappeared persons living is remote.

In yesterday Cabinet briefing ,Rajitha in reply to a question by a journalist on disappeared persons he said ,that Government has taken a decision to issue Death Certificate to those who were reported to have disappeared. This will help immediate relatives to come over certain legal obstacles faced by them.

Does it include people who were made involuntary disappearances in presence of their  kith and kin? What about legal action against those responsible for involuntary disappearances.
