Funeral Of M. K. D. S .Gunawardena Today

The funeral of former Lands Minister M. K. D .S Gunawardena, who died on 19 January 2016, will be held with full state honors at the Leelaratne grounds in Kantale this afternoon at 2 pm today 23.01.2016.

The remains of Mr Gunawardena currently die in state at his residence for the public to pay respects.

The cremation will take place after religious rites and funeral oratories.

Police said that a special traffic plan will be in place in Kantale this evening in lieu of the funeral procession.
