Wedding haka moves New Zealand Maori bride to tears (Watch Video)

A newly-married couple in New Zealand are surprised by a haka put on by the groom’s family – before joining in themselves.

The haka named  Tika Tonu which tells the story of a father encouraging his son to overcome his problems was performed at the wedding of  Benjamin and Aaliyah Armstrong.

The passion and emotion expressed during the dance moved the couple, who, along with the bride’s best friend and bridesmaid, joined in at the end.

A video of the dance quickly racked up more than 26 million times after being posted on social media.

A haka is a traditional war cry and chant originally used to intimidate tribal opponents and enemies with loud shouts, chest thumps and exaggerated facial features and movements.
