Macon Phillips to Visit Srilanka

Coordinator for the United States Bureau of International Information Programs, Macon Phillips, is expected to arrive in the island on a one-day official visit.

The US State Department said the visit was intended at strengthening ties between the two countries. Phillips’ served as a Special Assistant to the President and Director of Digital Strategy at the White House in the Obama Administration.

Previously, he ran the new media program for the Presidential Transition Team and served as the deputy director of the Obama campaign’s new media department.

A spokesperson at the US Embassy in Colombo said Macon Phillips is due to arrive in the country within the next two days.
