Kidnapped Lankan Engineer in Nigeria back to Home-Sweet-Home

Sri Lankan Engineer D.A. Karunadasa who was kidnapped by an unidentified armed gang in Nigeria and later released, is due to arrive in the island after two days time.

He was abducted in the border of Ondo and Kogi provinces in Nigeria by an armed gang on the 19th of May, after shooting the police officer who was on guard to death.

Later the local Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Italian Company he worked jointly launched operation to rescue him.

Armed gang had demanded a ransom to release Karunadasa, reportedly. 68 year old Karunadasa is a resident of Mottunna in Veyangoda.
