Yoshitha Rajapaksa to be produced before Court Today

A group including Former President /Parliamentarian Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son,Yoshitha Rajapaksa arrested under the Money laundering Act, is due to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court once again today.

The group was arrested on the 30th of January over charges of financial irregularities reported at the CSN.

Former Head of CSN Rohan Weliwita, former Chief Executive Officer, Nishantha Ranatunga and other officers at the network Ashan Rabinath Fernando and Kavishan Dissanayake are currently in remand custody over financial irregularities reported at the network.

The government said the group failed to prove its innocence over how the company derived the starting capital of 234 million rupees, except for 7 million rupees from the fund.

A bail application was submitted to the  Court on behalf of the group on the 30th of January 2016.

The application is due to be taken for inquiry.
