The Attorney General has filed plaint against Johnston Fernando for purchasing goods valued Rs 52 lakhs and Rs 75,000 from CWE without payment.
During 2013 North Western Provincial Council Elections , he has obtained goods to be distributed on behalf of his son, who contested the election. This purchase was done without payment made to the CWE. A case was filed in Kurunegala High Court by the Attorney General.
It is relevant to mention here that FCID has filed a case in the Colombo Chief magistrate Court against Johnston for not declaring his assets for five years as from 2010.
