Two women attempt failed kidnap at the airport

An attempt made by two women to kidnap a child at the Katunayake Airport was thwarted by Airport Security on Wednesday (03).

The culprits were targeting a woman arriving at the airport from Bahrain with her newborn child.

The Woman had been forced to work in a house in Bahrain for 1 and half years without receiving wages. The child was born after she had run away from the residence and was in hiding.

She stated that the father of the child was an Indian and was released by Security personnel after she signed papers that she would raise the child.

The Woman and child were en route to her home in the Uva Province.
