SLFP Stand by the Prime Minister’s Proposal to Appoint the Constitutional Council

In order to introduce a new Constitution,the Sri Lanka Freedom Party had decided to support the Prime Minister’s proposal to form a Constitutional Board that comprising  the entire Parliament.

The Central Committee that convened under the patronage of party leader, President Maithripala Sirisena last evening arrived at the decision. However, an election will be held on the 9th to confirm this decision by the SLFP.All Central Committee Members were asked to cast their vote on this day.

It was ruled that the Constitutional Board should act according to Parliament standing orders.

Reforms of the SLFP were also discussed in detail.
