Smuggler caught with approx. 7.8 million worth of gold

A gem businessman from Dehiwala was apprehended today (05) while attempting to smuggle 3 gold bars in to the country. He was caught by customs at the Bandaranaike Airport. The estimated value of the Gold bars is 7.8 million rupees. The suspect was travelling back to the country from Sharjah and is said to be a frequent flyer between the destinations.
