Two months back Prime Minister made a proposal to the Parliament to convert all members of Parliament to be members of the State Assembly.
Debate was held on 23rd and 24th February 2016, but taking vote was postponed pending amendments. UNP agreed to incorporate amendments made by the SLFP. Hence, SLFP agreed to vote in favour of the proposal to be taken up for voting today However, JVP is yet to decide whether to vote in favour or against it.
