A family of 4 found dead inside a locked house on 16th March 2016 . Colombo Chief Medical Officer examined the house revealed. that he suspects death caused due to carbon monoxide emanated from burning plastic. There were black articles found deposited on walls. Fire would have started from Pantry Cupboard. According to information provided to him by the Electricity Officers, plug base in the kitchen, which was connected to a mobile phone was found melted. Even the connected phone was found melted. Plastic vessel nearby and the plastic table too found burnt. Under these circumstances, he suspected carbon monoxide would have caused the death. Any way, he continues to examine and analyse further for other possibilities, he said.
