Frontline Socialist Party Leader, Kumar Gunaratnam had earlier appealed to the Appeal court requesting a Writ Order to grant him Sri Lanka citizenship.
Counsel appearing for the petitioner informed that the petitioner who involves in politics had gone overseas using a different name out of considerations of personal security.
Presenting evidence before the Appeal Court, Attorney General has pointed out that it was not possible to grant Sri Lankan citizenship to Kumar Gunaratnam.
Senior State Counsel appearing for the Attorney General said ,that Kumar Gunaratnam had acted illegally he neither had the right to request for this country’s citizenship nor was there any possibility to grant it.
The court that took into considerations the evidence placed before it, informed that the written discourses to be filed on May 24th .
