TID Investigate Explosives Found in Chavakachcheri

Acting Inspector General of Police, S.M Wickremesinghe has handed over the investigations regarding  the stock of explosives found at a residence in Chavakachcheri to the Terrorist Investigation Department.

Accordingly, the office of the Police Media Spokesman said , the TID commenced investigations under the supervision of the Senior Deputy IGP of the Criminal Investigations Department.

Meanwhile, Police Media Spokesman ASP,Ruwan Gunasekara said, the suspect has been  arrested and detained, who  is currently being questioned in connection with the incident.

A stock of explosives including a suicide vest, four claymore bombs, 12 kilograms of TNT explosives, 100 nine (9)millimetre ammunition and 2 battery packs used to fill the claymores were seized by police.
