Kidneys of 6 Indians out of 8 in Custody Removed – CCD Reported Court

Eight Indian nationals were arrested on March 4 for allegedly abusing visa conditions and having links to the ongoing racket involving kidney transplant operations in Sri Lanka.

However the Colombo Crimes Division today(1) informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that six out of the eight Indian who were arrested recently have had one of their kidneys removed.

They were arrested by officers of the Colombo Crimes Division  around midnight at a guest house on Pennyquick Road in Wellawatta.

They will be produced in court again on April 4.
