Yoshitha Rajapakshe Owns Millions Worth of Two Luxury Houses at Dehiwala

Lanka Truth reported that on a search warrant issued by the Mt. Lavania Magistrate, a four storied house and a two storied house at 173/2, Mihinda Mawatha, Dehiwala owned by Yoshitha Rajapakshe were uncovered. Total amount reported to have been spent to purchase the land alone cost 49.02 million. When buying the land, a 5 perch land belonged to Mt. Lavania multi-Purpose Cooperative society too had been bought at a cost of 4.5 million. Both houses have been identified as luxury residences. An underground chamber had been built at the four storied house. Though valuation is jet to be finalized, Lanka Truth reported the value of the assets could be over 1000 million.

This 65 perch plot of land had been originally purchased by a spinster aunt of Shiranthi Rajapakshe in the year 2013 and handed over to Yositha. This is not a new phenomenon. Most of the politicians invest their ill earned money in the name of proxies and transfer it later according to their need.
