General Amnesty Announced To Hand Over Illegal Firearms

The Ministry of Defence announced a general amnesty period, from April 25, 2016, to May 5, 2016 for the handing over of illegal firearms in the country.

Although there is no  estimate of the number of illegal firearms in circulation, some reports have suggested a figure of around 50,000.
