School Holidays From Today

Sinhala and Tamil state schools and government approved private schools will close for the first school term today.

The second school term is scheduled to commence on the 25th of April. Meanwhile, the first term of Muslim schools will conclude on Monday, the 11th of April, while the second school term will be in effect under two phases.

The first phase will be in effect from the 18th of April to the 3rd of June.

The Ministry of Education said Muslim schools will be granted leave from the 6th of June to the 6th of July in lieu of the Ramadan fasting period.

The second phase of the second school term for Muslim schools will commence on the 7th of July.
