Army Protection to Mahinda Strengthened
The MoD had recently decided to deploy policemen to the security of Rajapaksa after removing the Army security and Defence secretary,Karunasena Hettiarachchi officially informed at the Cabinet Press briefing on 07 April 2016.
However, Mahinda Rajapaksa said , that the earlier decision of the Defence Ministry to remove his Army protection was halted by President Maithripala Sirisena.
As a result 103 Army personnel in his security squad will remain in their posts.
