In may 3779 Principals will be appointed to schools in Srilanka. Appointment in Province wise is given below:
Western Province 760,
Central Province 584,
Southern Province 532,
North Western Province 427,
North Central Province 264,
Sabragamuwa Province 252,
Northern Province 380,
Eastern Province 338
Over 8000 sat for the competitive examination conducted in last November for selection of Principals. Out of this 4079 were selected for interviews.
Nearly 300 failed to acquire required marks in interview.
Other 3779 will be appointed as principals in May 2016.
In the mean time All Ceylon Teachers Association alleged that allocation of principals have not been done in the proper manner.
