The Prisons Department today informed the Colombo Magistrate Courts, that the first suspect in the alleged kidney racket has escaped from the detention camp in Mirihana.
Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris was informed that the the Department has informed about this to the Controller of Immigration and Emigration.But the other seven suspects were produced before courts today(18).
Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris ordered the Colombo Crimes Division to inspect the camp and report on whether the suspects could be detained in the camp further.
The hearing was postponed to May 2.
