Opposition leader Nimal Siripala De Silva denied accusations by the Government that some signatures on the No Faith motion presented by the United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) were fraudulent.
The UPFA submitted a No Faith motion against PM Ranil Wickramasinghe bearing the signatures of 112 MP’s out of the 225 in Parliament.
Siripala De Silva stated that all the Government had to do to prove that oppositions No Faith motion was tampered was to challenge and beat it in Parliament.
The UPFA were also planning to bring a No Faith Motion against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.
Meanwhile President Maithripala has instructed the UPFA not to bring the No Faith Motion against PM into action. The reason behind his instructions are still circumspect.
