Due to Heavy Rain 5 Spill Gates of Udawalawe Reservoir Opened

Incessant rains experienced in the area  compelled Udawalawe Irrigation Engineers to open  five spill gates of the Udawalawe reservoir to almost two feet.

The Udawalawe Irrigation  Office added as a result of opening spill gates, approximately 16,600 cubic feet of water is being released into the Walawe River.

In view of this officials of the Irrigation Department have requested residents of low lying areas to remain vigilant.
