Iranian arrested with fake passport at the Katunayake airport
An Iranian was arrested at the Bandaranaike Airport today (09) as he was attempting to travel to Sweden with a fake passport.
The suspect in question had arrived in the country on the 31st of May and had been staying in Colombo and Kandy during his stay.
He was arrested by the Airport officers after checking his documents and was handed over the Crime Investigation Department (CID).
The suspect will be presented before the Negombo Magistrate court after investigations by the CID.
