Sudden increase in Crimes in North – Chief Minister

Chief Minister of the Northern Provincial Council, C.V.Vickneswaran has written to the new IGP stating , that robberies, thefts and violence are on increasing trend in the Northern peninsula..He mentioned  that one of the tourist buses, which brought Sinhalese people were attacked.What was the main cause for this act  is to be thoroughly investigated. On Saturday night alone 5 robberies took place. We have to suspect whether these things are staged to justify retaining the Army in the North, he concluded.
