Purchase Order to buy 4 Numbers Air Bus A 350 to be Cancelled

In a conference held in Temple trees yesterday, Prime Minister Ranil said that the Srilankan Airlines is in a debt trap of 325 billion US dollars  (approximately Rs 47,320 billion) .Previous Government placed ordered to buy 8 numbers air bus A-350. Now the government has decided to cancel the order in respect of four air buses. Balanced four planes will be delivered to Srilanka as from August 2016. Ranil indirectly indicated that these air buses may be resold.

In the year 2013, Mahinda regime entered into an agreement to purchase A-330 type of planes and 8 air bus A-350 planes. Out of this 7 air bus A -330, 300 type of planes have already been delivered.He further said, in order to make Srilankan Airlines a profitable venture, approval has been granted by the Government to enter into  partnership with other airlines organizations.
