FCID submitted an application to the court yesterday (28th) stating that Yositha Rajapakshe is in possession of 5 passports. But he has provided false information to the FCID.
FCID requested the court to order to submit all 5 passports and information regarding investments made by Yositha and his accomplisces in the stock market to the FCID, approval was given for it.
In regard to import of an outside broadcast bus, 2 super luxury vehicles at low prices without paying custom duties, FCID requested the court to order for an inquiry by the Director of Customs.
During Mahinda’s era, former Chairman of Rupawahini Corporation ordered to fix CSN communication equipment on to the Kokavil tower. But there was no legal base for this as no legal agreements made available.
In the account name of CSN Security, SLBC’s towers were used and attempted to pay was revealed. There is no clear cut information regarding inflow of funds to this account,.Hence FCID requested approval to investigate the source of funds.
Suspects undertook to appear before the FCID as and when called. Under the circumstances, Kaduwela Acting magistrate ordered Yoshitha, Nishantha Ranatunga and other accomplices to appear before the FCID as from 3rd May for 2 weeks to record statements.
The case was postponed to 5th may 2016 and suspects were ordered to appear in court when notified.
