Schools Closure After 1200 Hours To Avoid Warm Weather

Some of the provincial schools are being closed after 1200 hrs to avoid students get exposed to hot sun, which affect their health .

North Central and Eastern Provincial Councils have decided to close their respective schools after 12oo hrs. However national schools continue to function as usual.  Ceylon Teachers Service Union , Mahinda Jeyasinghe has written a letter to the Ministry of Education in this connection. In this letter,he pointed out that schools are now being closed at 2 different times. After 2 pm in North Central Province heat is unbearable.

Although North Central Provincial administration has decided school closed after 1200 hrs, National Schools coming under the Ministry of Education was not given this facility, said Mahinda Jeyasinghe.
